LEADERSHIP
As a member of the patent bar, I take the opportunity to respond to USPTO regulatory proposals to make my own voice, and as appropriate, the voices of my clients, heard. In one case, my extensive written comments were important in derailing a massive regulatory debacle, as they were the sole comments that addressed particular aspects of the proposed rules, supporting the ultimately successful litigation to block the rules. I am also working to force Congress to reconsider the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, which raises grave constitutional concerns.
In my spare time, I like to invent—the process of finding an unsolved problem, and applying new and existing technologies to solve that problem, to the benefit of all. To date, I have 111 US patents issued, and I remain active. My experience is that, over time, both the problem and its resolution evolve, and the project evolves. I use this same ethic in general: Constructive analysis of problems, with personal responsibility for the remediation.
