This bulletin is designed to provide a packet of powerful information that will help you avoid or negotiate occurrences that are likely to arise as a result of difficult energetic conditions—which are predictable by astrologers.

This bulletin also gives guidance on maximizing the astrological climate so you can be more successful and happy. In a general sense, this is called “electional astrology.”

Some of the advice is simple to understand and adopt, such as the Lunar Void of Course information, or the Mercury Retrograde attachment (which is attached only when it applies). Other points may take more reflection and imagination for you to utilize in a meaningful way.

How To Use This Month’s Bulletin

1. Observe The Big Picture Items.

The chief astrological phenomena in April are:

a. Mars in Gemini (3/3/21 thru 4/23/21). Recall that last month, fire sign Mars entered mental, expressive air sign Gemini. The action planet remains in the mutable domain of the Messenger God, Mercury, until the 23rd, continuing the trend of abundant mental activity and communication that might be scattered and unfocused.

b. Mercury in Aries (4/3/21 thru 4/19/21). The communication and thought God exits the nebulous and intangible world of Pisces on April 3, and rockets into passionate, assertive, action-oriented Aries. Here our thinking and words synergize with and support leadership, self-confidence, action and execution. Expect others to express themselves boldly and act with decisiveness. Beware of impatience, restlessness and insensitivity.

c. Venus in Taurus (4/14/21 thru 5/8/21). Mid-month, Venus quits Aries and enters her own kingdom of wealth, beauty, love and pleasure. Here, she’s grounded, comfortable and compassionate. Productivity and practicality are strongly supportive in business and career matters, generally. Money, banking, finance, the arts, fashion and luxuries are all in favor right now.

d. Mars in Cancer (4/23/21 thru 6/11/21). Mars will spend 49 days in a territory not well suited for his lust for action and self-assertion. In the nurturing, soothing, protective sign of the Crab, Cancer, Mars’ powers are either suppressed or redirected into the home and family and other matters governed by Cancer. Emotional volatility, moodiness, oversensitivity and irritability are unfortunately common symptoms of a Mars visit in Cancer.

e. Conjunctions with Uranus in Taurus. Four (4) planets this month conjunct with Uranus in Taurus: Moon (4/13/21), Venus (4/22/21), Mercury (4/23/21), Sun (4/30/21). These conjunctions have to be viewed against the larger backdrop (or “macro-level energy”) of the Saturn-Uranus conjunction, which is discussed here and in the following paragraph. In general, we can anticipate that April 22 and 23 will bring big surprises and perhaps positive innovations for business, career and finance in Venusian or Mercurial industries and undertakings (see the Calendar for more information). At the end of the month, we can expect similar shocks and blessings in Sun-related domains—more specifically, those spheres of activity relating to the self, the ego, self-expression as well as joy, optimism and light (broadly understood).

f. Squares to Saturn in Aquarius (besides the Saturn-Uranus square). This month, there are two: Venus in Taurus (4/24/21), and Mercury in Taurus (4/25/21). The Venus and Mercury conjunctions with Uranus discussed above mean that Venus and Mercury will simultaneously enter into a square relationship with Saturn. Viewed in the abstract, when these planets square Saturn we can expect that both resources and personal relationships may be strained, constrained, restricted or lacking. Further, communication, thinking, analysis and logic can be similarly undermined, as well as our mood and outlook. Next month (on 5/32/21), the Sun will make an exact square to Saturn (just two weeks prior to the second exact Saturn-Uranus square this year). This grouping of planets around Uranus in Taurus will likely precipitate some profound developments and/or crises in Venusian and Mercurial industries and undertakings, which are many: they include the arts, money, banking, the body, luxury goods, media, publicity, advertising, marketing, science and technology. 4. Take Note of April’s Aspect Menu.

Many additional aspects and transits this month are noted on the AstroLawger calendar (see below). This month, all planets are in direct motion (until 4/28/21), which is to say that we have all our oars in the water and the wind is at our backs. We’re striding each day into new territory and meeting new experiences, not rehashing the old, revisiting previous dramas or reliving the past. In February we saw an intense collection of planetary bodies in Aquarius (7 or more, depending on how you count them). March included a small cluster of planets in Pisces, and a remarkably potent Venus Star Point that conjuncted Chiron, the Wounded Healer. This month we have six (6) planets congregating in Taurus, many of them squaring Saturn (as they sidle up to Uranus, which is in the midst of a lengthy Saturnian-square period), sextiling Mars and the North Node, and sextiling Jupiter and Pluto. Additionally, we’ll see an auspicious New Moon in Aries, a wonderful Mars-Jupiter trine, a Mercury cazimi (“at the throne of the Sun”), and the wealth Goddess’ return to her kingdom of love and delights. We’ll also see a Full Moon in Scorpio and observe Pluto come to a standstill before he reverses course. Altogether, this means we have many excellent opportunities for success and advances in business, career and finance, but there are some turbulent areas as well. Innovation and invention and rebellion (the good kind, hopefully) are to be expected. Act strategically and stay alert to the astro-weather!

6. Take Note of the Void of Course Moon.

As always, this bulletin includes a table of the month’s Void of Course periods (see the attachment). Like March, nearly all the Moon’s void-of-course periods in April 2021 fall within (or encroach into) normal business hours (in America), excluding only the VOC on Friday and Saturday, 4/2 thru 4/3/21.

All times in this Bulletin are Pacific Daylight Time (or Pacific Standard Time beginning 11/7/21 2:00 am).

Remember, while the Moon is VOC—rest your A-Game. Avoid key actions and events during the time periods above if possible. See the Lunar Void of Course attachment for more explanation

Lunar Void of Course

After the Moon completes its key aspects with all the planets in a given sign (in which the Moon is traversing), it is said to be “void of course” for the remainder of its passage in that sign. It’s messages al have been delivered, and it’s effectively discharged—until it enters the next sign. The Moon goes void of course about every 2 ½ days; usually the period only lasts a few hours but it can last more than a full day.

The simple advice is here is to avoid activities and communications of great importance or significance when the Moon is in this inactive period. This advice is similar to the recommended course of action/inaction for Mercury Retrograde. Efforts are likely to fail to produce the desired outcome during void of course periods.
